Aftermath Of Our First Contact

Now we know we are not alone priority has to be given to defending both the Earth and also the Tau Ceti jump point. So the first move is to concentrate all research on weapons and defensive measures.

While the survey fleet from Tau Ceti refuel. New Horizon 002 explores the fourth jump point in the Sol system and enters Ross 128 this system has one star with a spectral class of M4-V. Only one planet is terrestrial but it's not within a colonisable range for humans. The other six major bodies are gas giants. New Horizon 002 commences a grav survey and the other survey ships will join once there refuelled.

On the 17th of August 2036 the Earth Defense Missile Bases are designed and plans are put in place to build four on Earth.

Earth Defense Missile class Planetary Defence Centre 2900 tons 340 Crew 357.5 BP TCS 58 TH 0 EM 0

PDC Size 4 Missile Launcher (8) Missile Size 4 Rate of Fire 20
Missile Fire Control FC96-R200 (1) Range 96.0m km Resolution 200

This design is classed as a Planetary Defence Centre and can be pre-fabricated in 2 sections

On the 3rd of October 2036 it is decided that we will never be able to communicate with the Tau Ceti aliens and no further communication attempts are to be made.

Grav survey of Ross 128 is completed on the 27th of December and no jump points are found.

The fifth jump point in the Sol system is explored on the 19th of April 2037 this leads into the Luyten 726-8 system on entering the system three wrecks appear on the scanners two 8000 tons and one 2500 tons. This all seems eerily familiar. The decision is made to await military backup before the system is explored.

The survey fleet transits back to Sol and heads for the sixth and final unexplored jump point. This jump point leads to the EZ Aquarii system.

That's all for this installment hopefully tomorrow I can start building up a military force and make the Sol system feel a little bit safer.
